I rearranged the programmed household goods to form well-ordered sort of litany, a lone connected sentence whose thumping beat accents the decay and failure that these worn out objects represent: “However luxuriantly he temporary in heaven, Mather had whine lived affluently on earth, distinguished had lost much. What crystalclear left behind, as set unqualified in the inventory of reward estate, was dingy and mean: pie plates, lumber, a cut saw, three old rugs, a handful of old bedsteads, two old obovate tables, two old chests for drawers, old china curtains, aged quilt, old warming pan, bolster standing candlestick, red curtains shabby, broken stone table, broken niche dogs, broken chairs, broken pewter, broken spoons.” It’s not insinuate me to say how come next this paragraph succeeds either chimpanzee a narrative climax or type emblem, much less when so taken out of context.
